wHAT IS 'To Love You Again'?

This is a celebration of queer love and an exploration into the romantic film genre. As we navigate Harri and El's relationship we see them grapple with the question of is love enough to go against the society around them. Though they have shared a hidden love, we see them battle between their desires to be out and proud whilst still living the lives that are expected of them. As a conflict so familiar to many we shall show you their love not once, but through three time periods of 1835, 1988 and 2025 Britain, our film will ask the question, has society changed enough?

Who are we?

We are a group of final year students:  

Mathew Cronk – Lighting Designer, Editor

Olivia Hills – Cinematographer, Camera operator   

Saffron Green – Co-Director, Screen writer, Costume Designer  

Jorge Mesa Jimenez – Co-Director, Script Editor, Head of Marketing 

Tobias Midlane – Head of Casting, Location Scout, 1st AD 

Sophie Tregear – Producer, Set Designer, 2nd AD 

Our story

This film is really important to us. As a group mainly made up of LGBTQIA+ creators, we are dedicated to portraying an honest representation of a queer love story. 

By donating to our short film, you will be helping us as we develop our final year project. This is an important educational endeavor for all of us as it gives us experience in the roles and styles that we aim to work in, post graduating. This is a unique project as we aim to invert your expectations of the romantic genre both through narrative and abstract styling. 

Where will the money go?

All money raised will contribute to the creation of this important project! Below is a rough draft of our current budget:

• Costume (£300)

• Location (£400)

• Makeup (£80)

• Practical lighting equipment (£100)

• Travel and Accommodation (£300)
• Set and Props (£120)
• Catering (£100)
• Emergency Funds (£100)

  If we raise any extra funds above our target, this money will be used by the University of Reading Film Theatre and Television department to help promote our film and other films made by our fellow students.
