OUR project
We are fundraising to support our short film, 'The Frame'. In these six precious minutes, our goals are to take on stereotypes of masculinity and the importance of choice whilst providing excellent entertainment in the process.
Not only do we promise six minutes of stunning short film, we are also ensuring a renewable method of production! By following the advice of BAFTA Albert, the leading screen industry organisation for environmental sustainability, we promise to deliver a greener and cleaner method of expression.

OUR STORY
Having booked the assistance of a 'date advisor', our protagonist Joe gives the dating scene a new approach. Halfway through his date however Joe starts to question the unhealthy advice of his new mentor. Find out what path Joe chooses to follow, that of authenticity or performance.
What makes our idea unique? From pub bathroom to park bench, 'The Frame' takes our protagonist, Joe, through a moral dilemma of who do you trust in love? Whilst taking a moment away from the lovely lady at his table, Joe finds himself spiralling in the men's bathroom. On his frantic search for advice, he's ultimately left with two options. Does he 'man up' and put faith into his supposedly successful 'date advisor', or should he take the advice of some heartfelt drunk and gamble with his heart?
bEHIND THE SCENES
Behind the scenes our crew will be making sure that we're doing everything possible to minimise, recycle and reuse all waste.
We'll be:
- Sustainably traveling using public transport or by walking
- Reusing all costumes and props bought by donating them to the University of Reading's film department
- Renting equipment from suppliers who prioritise sustainability, environmental responsibility and fair trade
- Filming in local areas ensuring no unnecessary transportation is required
- Casting local actors
The cost
To fund this project, we've taken each cost into consideration and our rough costings are:
Production Design = £200
Catering = £200
Travel = £40
If we raise any extra funds above our target, this money will be used by the University of Reading Film, Theatre and Television department to help promote our film and other films made by our fellow students.
Rewards
To thank those who donate, we offer our gratitude along with a reward:
£1+ = Name in end of credits
£5+ = Chance to rename Joe's date
£10+ = Special behind the scenes video
