What is The Debater's folly about?
The Debater’s Folly, starring Arwen Jones! Overwhelmed by her family’s pressure from the Vatican City, a university underachiever partakes in an impossible debate to decide the debate society’s next president.
Our Film's Goals:
- We want to address social issues like political and bureaucratic corruption and highlight that these traits form in people at a smaller scale in university societies.
- Pay homage to and celebrate "sword and sandal" films and classical influences.
- Tackle themes of legacy / familial pressures.
- Craft relatable characters that audiences can root for and against within the university setting.
- To make a film that has the capability to compete at Film Festivals, highlighting the creative achievements of the cast and crew.
