Synopsis story
Hiring at Alundra's is about a young girl who dreams of running her own bar one day. After getting rejected from multiple pubs, she starts to lose hope when the bar owner of 'Alundra's' gives her an opportunity to work there. After a honeymoon period, Anabel realises that it was all too good to be true.
OUR GOAL
Work isn't what it used to be, with retirement age going up, there are fewer spots open for young people. Workplaces are looking for people with S years of experience for entry-level jobs, and even if you get the job, chances are management won't be what you think it is. We want to show not only what it's like to work in a toxic workplace, but also what it's like to work as a woman in general. Especially in the hospitality industry.
Where will the money go?
Gifts will help cover essential costs for creating the film:
- Set Design and Costume: £656
- Venue Hire: £300
- Food £100
This project is made through the Minghella Makes program at the University of Reading Film Theatre and Television department. If we raise any extra funds above our target, this money will be used by the University to help promote and market our film.
