An immersive horror installation, showcasing the designs, worlds and.. inhabitants of a twisted mind

The story:

The White Rabbit - known to his followers at The Herdsman - is a crazed cult leader who has infected the world and the minds of his followers with his message. The weak need to be culled. In his work he has created the ultimate way to do this which he dotingly refers to as "The Rabbit Run", a twisted maze where he lets his flock of Rabbits loose to pick off the weak of his ensnared visitors.

In his work to create the "perfect" being, he has turned to Frankenstein-like science experiments, creating creatures that want nothing more than to fulfil the sick purpose that they have been made for. "The Absolved" roam their Herdsman's territory, capturing victims with unwavering obedience. Almost unstoppable, you never know when one may be lurking around a corner, waiting to capture you.

There are pockets of resistance in this world however, ███████ take up residence in ███████

Some show their resistance in other ways - underground, people let loose with a drug known as ███████

Holding raves, parties and other expressions of freedom. Rumours has it though that this... substance... has itself been created by someone wishing for control over these lunatics.

A bit about me:

Hi there! My name is Jack and I am in my Final Year of the Film and Theatre Course. I have worked as a scare performer for the last 2 years and am fascinated by the intersection between horror and theatre.

As a great lover of all things horror, I have aways been saddened by the seeming lack of focus that it gets by most major theatrical and academic bodies. With my background and great love of scare, I'm hoping to bring forward a project that lays out some of my creative ideas, while also experimenting with the creation of the world and characters of an immersive scare experience.

How the project will be laid out:

There are multiple parts to this installation. Visitors will find themselves inside a wood cabin with a TV playing a short film featuring the Herdsman that will be going into production early in the new year. There will then be 4 different areas around the room each showcasing my designs for the characters and scare mazes or zones that they may be found in. There will also be little bits of lore that can be found to explain the world and how it got to be how it is in greater depth contained in this.

There will then be a performance element that will have been developed by me running several workshops with professional scare performers and other theatre creatives ranging from directors to techies from February to May.

Where will the money go?

Costume:

While I do wish I had infinite scraps of fabric to make entirely new costumes, I am going to have to design and then source a lot of bits. This will constitute costumes both worn by performers and displayed as part of my designs.

Set:

The installation is set inside a wooden cabin that I hope to construct inside the studio space of Minghella. As I don't own a tree farm, I will be sourcing various bits of wood panelling and texturing to make this happen.

Make up:

Scary people doing scary things can look quite silly if the people doing them look normal, I will be using all sorts of makeup to make my performers look as strange as possible!

Any money that isn't used will be used to help make the FTT 3rd Year festival a reality, so you're not just supporting me, you're also supporting all of my friends and peers as well!
