Looking to impress his crush, Harvey finds interesting ways get her attention.

synopsis for our project

Harvey is an incel who typically stays within the confines of his bedroom. He struggles with socialising, more specifically when it comes to approaching women. One day he gets the chance to meet his favourite streamer, Lila. She’s bubbly, outgoing and beautiful; exactly his type. After following some questionable advice from a man who posts self-help tips online, Harvey approaches Lila at her meet and greet. After a poor attempt to ask her out which backfires, Harvey decides to take matters into his hands and follow his own advice. Will he find success in winning Lila over?

Meet the team

We are all looking forward to working on this project with a script that includes offbeat humour while also addressing real problems that women face with the rising popularity of online media; in this case, streaming services like Twitch.

Our inspiration

Our biggest inspiration for this project is the Netflix series Black Mirror. We wanted to address some critical concepts that link to issues with online media and the digital world, so naturally we looked at Black Mirror as the show address the same thing in a ominous and captivating way. We were also enamoured and insipred by the visuals in the Series, so if you enjoy watching shows like that please consider donating!

why should you donate?

This final year project means a lot to us as its finally our chance to step into roles that we've spent the past 2 years at university learning and preparing for. Having the freedom and a creative outlet to make and produce a 10 minute short film about an issue that we are passionate about and have noticed has become prevalent recently feels extremely liberating. It was equally important to us to make sure the script included comedy and made us laugh - we hope you can laugh with us too!

All of this can only be possible with your donations.

Where will your money go?

Our minimum target for this project is £1050, this is because we want to put a lot of detail and effort into all aspects of our film, more specifically focusing on costumes and sets that feel real and lived in. This is all to ensure that our audience can focus on the story itself rather than be pulled out of it by a bad set.
