Our Project:

Bloodlust is a psychological short horror film exploring male loneliness and the dangerous appeal of reinvention. It examines how isolation can make us vulnerable, not just to others, but to the versions of ourselves we wish we could become. The film delves into a university town and what it means to feel invisible in spaces designed for connection. Through the socially isolated student Ashley, we see the quiet erosion of self-worth that can occur in places that promise belonging. 

What makes our film unique?

Our story is unique because we are filming it through a supernatural concept. But rather than approaching vampirism as a spectacle, we decided to use vampirism as a metaphor to mirror addiction, the promise of power, and escape. It raises the question of whether transformation heals and offers a genuine escape or consumes the person beneath it and amplifies problems.

We are a group of dedicated students from the University of Reading from the FTT department with a shared goal of creating something wonderful for our Creative Screen Practice module.

Where will the money go?

Every donation is appreciated and will go towards the making of our film, here is a breakdown of our budget:

• Venue Hire: £250
• Costume and makeup: £200
• Production Design: £200
• Cast and Crew Catering: £150

If we exceed our target then any extra funds would be used by the University of Reading Film Theatre and Television department to help promote our film and other films made by our fellow students.
